Gay disney comic

Let me start off this share by saying, &#;Nope! It&#;s false.&#; Sorry to disappoint those of you who have been eager for Disney to finally verb a gay character. For someone who has worked over 7 years for the Walt Disney Co. I can tell you that I&#;m very doubtful that Disney will do this any time soon. During this send , I wanted to talk about the pros and cons for Disney (or any another animated film company) for bringing us an openly gay character. Laila Entertainment, LLC has already done it, and they did it good, with their animated feature, ParaNorman. Back in , ParaNorman follows the young Norman who happens to see dead people &#; don&#;t mix this with Six Sense, they&#;re completely different. At the end of the film, it is announced that Mitch (played by actor Casey Affleck) has a boyfriend. I declare  Laila Entertainment, LLC did this &#;really well&#; because being gay did not reflect his character in anyway&#;. and why should it? It&#;s a sexual orientation not a defining characteristic.

This might not be a review of ParaNorman, but it wouldn&#;t hurt to say I give

Why There Are So Many “First” Gay Disney Characters

It's become accepted to make fun of Disney for having lots of "first" gay characters. From LeFou in the live-action Beauty and the Beast () to Ethan Clade in Strange World (), Disney has a short and troubled history of LGBTQIA+ representation. LeFou and most of Disney's premature queer characters were heavily criticized, but later characters have been better received.

Still, five years after LeFou, The Walt Disney Company announces each new LGBTQIA+ character in a Disney film or TV show as some sort of first for them. Even Ethan Clade was a "first." This has led to plenty of memes, which is adj considering the quality of much of the representation. However, despite the mockery, there is a good reason each gay Disney character is considered "first."

Each Gay Disney Character is First in Its Category

Each gay Disney character is first in their category. LeFou in Beauty and the Beast had Disney's "first gay moment," apparently referring to him dancing with a man at the end. Ethan Clade in Strange World was Walt D

20 Disney Characters Confirmed (Or Speculated) To Be Queer

As one of the top companies in its field, fans, critics, and the public look to Disney for leadership, examine the themes in its movies, and praise or criticize the company for how it reflects the world. Among the points of interest is how LGBTQ people and their concerns are represented. Following the times, and in a scant cases leading them, Disney has had characters in its films that audiences have perceived to be part of the queer community. However, some of these depictions have been more forward than others.

Few Disney characters are explicitly declared to be gay by the studio or its filmmakers, but viewers have picked up on "gay coding," meaning characters exhibiting traits corresponding with LGBTQ. Aud Bool on the blog Prezi describes the term: "Coded gay is when a gay stereotype, 'gay behaviors' or 'camp' are used to indicate that a character is homosexual while never explicitly stating that they are." This is often not seen as a positive practice. However, in some cases, viewers have embraced Disney characters as bei

Disney seemingly has a lot of gay characters. But if someone asked me what I thought of Disney&#;s first openly gay character, I&#;d only have one thing to say: which one? ZING!

Disney is very fond of giving themselves a pat on the back for including the LGBTQ+ community in scenes of its major blockbusters. It&#;s become something of a meme in online spaces, particularly among queer TV/Film fans, who much prefer myself are unable to resist poking the billionaire company and it&#;s abysmal care when it comes to telling queer stories.

There&#;s an argument to be made that in reality queer fans shouldn&#;t care about Disney&#;s shit LGBTQ+ representation, and truly I understand it. But if there&#;s one thing I&#;ve learned it&#;s that no matter how much you point and shove people towards smaller &#;indie&#; LGBTQ+ creators, it won&#;t stop them from wanting better from the billionaire company they are ride-or-die for. It sucks, but that&#;s just how it is.

To further bully Disney in the hope of actually producing another movie that actually has amazing queer representation (hell
