Ibiza is a small Mediterranean island with a big reputation for its beach and nightlife scene.

Gay party animals simply need to orientate between two key locations.
During the day it&#;s Playa Es Cavallet, Ibiza’s main gay beach and in the evening the gay nightlife, restaurants & shops in the historic Ibiza Town (where the vast majority of gay visitors choose to stay).
The only deviation is to experience one of the gay parties hosted by the islands legendary super clubs outside of the town.
Ibiza high season runs from May to late September. August is particularly busy and is a great &#;add-on&#; destination for those visiting Barcelona for the Circuit Festival.

There are over 80 different beaches on Ibiza, each one with its own character and atmosphere. Some are sandy, some include pebbles, some are busy and easily reached, others are remote and secluded. There is a beach for all tastes. (see map).
There are two main superb gay beaches on Ibiza, with a scattering of other popular beaches around the island.
Really the whole of the south of the island has a bustling gay culture ingrained in the clubbing and tourist scene so no problemos with the closed minded on this minute beauty of a Med Island. Cruising rules pretty much across the south so get ya glad rags on. Also, there's no shortage of Nude beaches and sunbathing spots, with plenty of private rocky coves if your bits are for the chosen few alone. Playa des Cavallet, just south of the airport in Ibiza has to be the most popular gay beach on the island, but Ibiza is an island of miles of unspoilt coastline and you choose your spot according to taste. On this island you could depart to any beach and holding hands wouldn't be an issue: every beach is LGBTQIA-friendly: it's as simple as that. Here, beaches can be wild, compact, include turquoise or almost clear liquid, can be surrounded by sweet-smelling pines or be possessed of a Jurassic rocky backdrop. In short, there's a beach to suit every taste.
Es Cavallet has the only really “official” gay beach, having a big gay area that's popular with men. Then there's the beach at Figueretas, a resort popular with the LGBTQIA community, where many reasonably priced hotels are located.
You'll find the biggest concentration of LGBTQIA culture in the south of the island, one which has had a big shape on the island's clubbing scene. The south is where all the cruising goes on too; you'll see the sideways glances, so you'll know where you are when you get there.

Getting there: Reached by car, bicycle (be careful of the traffic!), or bus from Ibiza Town (10 km) or Playa d'en Bossa (6 km). Parking at the north end can be a nightmare as the car park is small and can be inadequate in high summer. In low season it's easier. The south end is best reached from the car park at Las Salinas beach (with fee); it's a minute stroll through shady pine woods.
The beach
Es Cavallet is a fabulously picturesque beach due to its white sand and rolling waves. With views of both Ibiza Town and Formentera on a clear daytime, Es Cavallet's location is a boon, with the scenic cruise across the salt flats also part of the experience.
