“I make contact often, because it helps me feels connected to the outside world, without it I wouldn’t have contact with anyone.”
"Fantastic support. Non judgemental, the person didn't tell me what to do but instead asked really insightful questions to earn me thinking about what I had to do myself. Recognize you so much for this service!"
“I feel suicidal daily, mostly of an evening. This service is a lifeline!”
Our online help sessions are run by:
- Trained and experienced LGBTQ online support volunteers
- MindOut’s LGBTQ mental health practitioners, including advocacy workers and counsellors

Welcome to MindOut
MindOut is a mental health service run by and for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer (LGBTQ) people.
We serve to improve the mental health and wellbeing of all LGBTQ communities and to make mental health a community concern.
We recognise that our communities are wonderfully diverse and welcome all LGBTQ+ people including those who spot as asexual, aromantic, pansexual, non-binary, genderqueer, genderfluid and intersex.
Our services are also available to those who may not identify under the LGBTQ umbrella, including straight people who have sexual and/or romantic relationships with LGBTQ people, men who have sex with men, women who have sex with women, people who previously identified as LGBTQ and those who are questioning their sexual and/or gender identities. If you are unsure, please do obtain in touch with us.
Our services are for LGBTQ people aged 18+ who are based in Sussex, with the exception of our Online Support service which is available nationally. See below for opening times.

The Cambridge Dictionary definition states that a community consists of people living in one particular area or people who are considered as a unit because of their common interest, social group or nationality.
“However, I perceive this doesn’t apply to the LGBTQ+ community. For example, the LGBTQ+ community extends across all over the globe, rather than just one particular area. It reaches out to many distinct social groups, whose people may all have completely different interests amongst them.
“This is what I think make
