Palm Springs Gay Softball League
The Palm Springs Gay Softball League (PSGSL) was originally organized in , by our Founding Fathers Tommie Douglas and Jim Hurst. The league began with 4 teams and approximately 50 participants. Today PSGSL has grown to 14 teams with + participants.
PSGSL is a Non-Profit (c)3 Corporation. We are a slow pitch softball league, established primarily for GLBTQ persons in the Palm Springs area, but open to all interested players.
The purpose of the PSGSL is to foster local, regional, national and international sports competition predominately for gays and lesbians. We are dedicated to the promotion of the amateur athletic experience for persons of all skill levels and abilities, regardless of sexual orientation, gender, race, creed, religion or national origin. The primary focus of the PSGSL is to provide venues for adult slow-pitch softball competition. Additionally, the organization endeavors to develop people of all abilities and experience to participate in sports competitions.

Winter Classic softball tournament on tap for early February

AAP – Noun Samaritans, in cooperation with the city of Palm Springs and the Palm Springs Gay Softball League, is presenting the 30th annual Palm Springs Winter Classic Softball Tournament Feb. 4 through 6.
Eighty teams and hundreds of LGBT softball players will verb in the city during the event. Games will be played at Demuth Park, E. Mesquite Ave., and Big League Dreams Sports Park in Cathedral Capital.
Games start as early as 10 a.m. on Friday (Masters Divisions). Games on Saturday will start as early as 8 a.m. and continue into the evening.

The public is invited to attend an opening reception Friday, Feb. 4 from
7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Hunter’s Nightclub, E. Arenas Road.

Palm Springs Gay Softball League sends four to Dallas
Four softball teams from the Palm Springs Gay Softball League (PSGSL) are heading to the prestigious Gay World Series softball tournament in Dallas from Sept.
The event is a special opportunity for many of the players in the PSGSL. Stephen Ridl, a right fielder for the Greyhounds, will compete in just his third Gay World Series in his 27 years of playing softball.
"It's very competitive so it's a big deal to qualify and it's a huge honor for us and the gay community," Ridl said.
Only winners of the four divisions (A, B, C, D) in the PSGSL are eligible to qualify for the Gay World Series. The "A" division features the toughest competition.
The Gay World Serieswill feature approximately male and female teams representing 40 cities in the United States and Canada.
The event begins with three round-robin games in two days. The teams are then seeded based on their records before tournament play continues with a double-elimination format. The championship is Sept.

PALM SPRINGS – January 29, AAP – Food Samaritans (AAP), in cooperation with the City of Palm Springs and the Palm Springs Gay Softball League, announces the 27th Annual Palm Springs Winter Classic Softball Tournament will take place February 9 , The teams participating in the tournament, which benefits AAP, are members of the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance (NAGAAA), a nonprofit organization assigned to promoting amateur athletics for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community.
Registration and a public opening reception will take place on Friday, February 9, from pm at Hunter’s Nightclub, East Arenas Road in Palm Springs.
