FreeOn Sunday, Saturday June 7, , The Davis Phoenix Coalition will host the 11th annual Pride Festival from 2pm-8pm at Davis Civic Center Field. The Davis Phoenix Coalition (DPC) is a local Davis Non-Profit that was founded following a homophobic hate crime. DPC’s mission is to gather and engage the community to prevent intolerance and cultivate a culture that celebrates the diversity of the community. The Davis Pride Festival is a family friendly festival which consists of various resource booths, food vendors, “Zones” (highlighting segments of the community such as youth, family and seniors) and entertainment. A week prior to the festival we paint the crosswalks surrounding central park in Rainbow colors. This is a favorite community event, and every year draws many volunteers and provides selfie opportunities to visitors of the farmers market and local eateries, and residents.
