Gay pride parade west hollywood
With June right around the corner, WeHo Pride is getting ready to host one of Southern California's biggest Pride events.
West Hollywood has become a urban area with a rich history and ties to the LGBTQ community. The city's Pride Month celebrations feature concerts, festivals and drag shows. Almost every corner of the city is adorned with rainbow flags and colored sidewalks supporting the LGBTQ community.
The weekend festivities will be spread out over several days, with the city enforcing road closures, which could impact travel and traffic.
WeHo Pride officially kicked off its celebrations on May 22, honoring Harvey Milk Afternoon. He was an American politician and the first openly gay man to be elected to public office in the U.S. He was a pioneer for LGBTQ rights and his function helped lead to the passing of the country's first gay rights ordinance.
When is the WeHo Pride Parade?
The WeHo Pride Parade will take place on Sunday, June 1, and will begin at noon. It will run along Santa Monica Boulevard between Crescent Heights and San Vicente Boulevards.

West Hollywood celebrates Pride in the 'Rainbow District'
WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- The City of West Hollywood will celebrate WeHo Pride Weekend on Friday, May 30; Saturday, May 31; and Sunday, June 1, , with a packed schedule of events and festivities in and around West Hollywood Park, located at N. San Vicente Blvd. and Santa Monica Boulevard.
Starting on Friday, May 30 at 12 p.m., Santa Monica Boulevard will be closed in both directions from N. Doheny Drive to N. La Cienega Boulevard through Monday, June 2, at 7 a.m.
WeHo Pride Presents Friday Night at OUTLOUD will take place on Friday, beginning at 6 p.m. at West Hollywood Park.
It will feature headliner Maren Morris and additional performances by Qveen Herby, Jamie Fine, and more.
WeHo Pride Street Fair, Women's Freedom Festival, and live performances on the Rainbow and Celebration Stages on Santa Monica Boulevard will begin on Saturday at 12 p.m., with the annual Dyke March noun at 6 p.m. directly following the conclusion of the Women's Freedom Festival at the Celebration Stage.

This year's WeHo Pride Arts Festival will seize place from Friday, May 23 through Sunday, May 25 with various events and programming.
Throughout the 40 days from May 22 to June 30, there will be community group events at various locations.
